REVIEW || Bhad Bhabie Live @ Eatons Hill Hotel Brisbane

Watching Bhad Bhabie live was everything I thought it would be. Danielle Bregoli was the exact same person you see on Instagram and Youtube as she was live further proving “She ain’t got it in her blood to be fake bich‘.

The first thing I noticed was how many more under 18’s there were than 18+ which is understandable considering Bhad Bhabie is still only 15 years old. But what was a little disappointing is that Eatons Hill Hotel confines the under 18s to the top floor and these guys would have had a lot more fun in the mosh with the 18+ crowd who I presume most were only there for the ‘MEME’.

Bhad Bhabie kicked off her set with her DJ and hype chick leaping around the stage to hip hop tracks we all know and love like M.A.A.D City by Kendrick Lamar. They informed the crowd that their girl Bhad Bhabie wouldn’t be coming out on stage until we were lit, and judging by the amount of people being escorted out of the venue before the show had even begun made me feel like the crowd was already there.

From the minute Bhad Bhabie entered the stage the crowd absolutely lost it. Playing tracks such as Juice and Geek’d I was surprised to find the amount of people in the room that new almost every single word. Rolling through most of her tracks from her 2018 album ’15’, Bhad Bhabie hair flicked and booty dropped her way into the spotlight capturing everyone’s attention with minimal effort. Even though her backing track including vocals played in the back ground of every song the energy on stage that she was projecting into the crowd made paying $90 seem worth just seeing her in real life.

Halfway through her set, Bhabie performed a shout out tribute to XXXTENTACION by covering his track Look At Me. The crowd went absolutely ballistic over it which is understandable as Soundcloud artists blew up around the same time Bhad Bhabie did. During single Bout That Bhabie invited up a chick from the crowd to sit on a chair on stage and receive a lap dance. It was super weird and slightly uncomfortable for everyone involved but the girl up on the stage seemed to love it. The crowd highlights were by far Gucci Flip Flops and These Heaux but the track that takes the cake for me is Hi Bich. The grungy backing track and simplistic easy to remember lyrics even had me singing and bopping along like an idiot. Bhad Bhabie also debuted her single Playboy Style featuring Charlie XCX for her fans as well as catchy single Trust Me featuring Ty Dolla $ign.

From doing the splits to booty drops, Bhad Bhabie with her longer than they should be nails and beautifully shiny red hair rocked that stage like she was the shit and the crowd really believed it. Bhabie chatted away to the crowd like they were her hoes and she looked like she was having an absolute ball the entire time. I will admit that 95% of the the time the crowd was just filming her every move with their cellphones but to be honest attending with a very low expectation and with the intention to be amused I was actually surprised with her performance. Bhad Bhabie connected with her crowd whenever she could, her raps sounded basically identical to her recordings and her care free slightly ghetto attitude was everything you would have wanted it to be and more. For a 15 year old she was very professional which is more than I can say for a lot of people her age. Bhad Bhabie in my opinion is doing everything right. Not only is she perusing a career that she enjoys but she is staying true to herself despite what people think even if sometimes she should care. Bhabie is probably an accurate representation of what most of us would have been like at 15 if we’d had that kind of money and worldwide attention.
