New Concert Event For Melbourne’s Botanic Gardens

Melbourne’s iconic Royal Botanic Gardens is set to come alive with music with the announcement of a brand new concert event beginning next year – A Weekend in the Gardens, happening from Friday March 10 until Sunday March 12, 2017.

 

The event will span across three days, fit with an amazing line up of artists. Saturday’s wonderful line up looks full to the brim with contemporary bands, such as Boy & Bear, San Cisco and Amy Shark, suiting Melbourne’s younger audience. Matching this running order however is Friday night’s acts, which will suit more classic music fans. The much-loved Melbourne location needs a much-loved and iconic performer to launch the first night. Therefore John Farnham will be headlining. John is thrilled to be part of the event and will be joined by two more of Melbourne’s favourite sons Daryl Braithwaite and Ross Wilson.

 

A Weekend in the Gardens will be end on a high. On Sunday night Icehouse continue their 40 th anniversary celebrations. Playing alongside the legends will be acclaimed singer- songwriters James Reyne and Clare Bowditch.

 

The event will be far more then music. A major feature of the event will be “The Eatery”, an area adjoining the site with a variety of high quality food and drink stalls where patrons can chill out and relax in a vibrant space. Foodies will tantalised with offerings from Ladro, Burn City Smoker, The Royale Brothers and Pommery Champagne & Oyster Bar to name a few! The Garden’s acclaimed Jardin Tan restaurant will also join the event, offering VIP packages to guests.

 

A Weekend in the Gardens is all about bringing together music lovers to enjoy a beautiful environment on a summer’s night. The same team behind the incredible successful A Day on the Green series will be developing the event.

 

A Weekend in the Gardens will be held across three nights on Friday March 10 th , Saturday March 11 and Sunday March 12. Music fans are reminded that the following Monday is a public holiday in Melbourne – hello recovery day! All nights run from 4.00pm until 11.00pm.
