Lime Cordiale, Hey Geronimo & Arpier Live @ Black Bear Lodge Review

Its hard to explain exactly what it is about Lime Cordiale that makes the listener loose complete control of their body and thoughts, but every time I watch these boys play they get better, their set runs smoothly, they make the most of every moment and they are worth more than you pay to see play live.

Kicking off the acts for the night was 4 piece alternative groove group from Brisbane Arpier. They were gearing and ready to please with an immediately attractive sound as lead vocalist Robert ripped into his raw and raunchy vocals which complimented by their forever tempo changing tones was memorising. Arpier were 100% your high school groove band and everything about them was just to cool for school. So relaxed and confident on the stage, the group played like seasoned pros and the crowd were loving them.

Local boys Hey Geronimo took to the stage with enough energy to fuel titanic fire and boy did they bring the noise, the crowd and the groove. Taking more of a spin on indie rock rather than surfer garage groove, Hey Geronimo was on a mission to leave the crowd sweating and screaming for more and I couldn’t think of a better opener for Lime Cordiale. Bucket loads of talent all crammed into a 5 piece group of guys who absolutely loved to perform. Playing songs such as Bake a Cake the bopping tune had the crowd and band jamming and dancing and everything felt just right.

The crowd could not want to wait a second for Lime Cordiale, they were pumped, they had their drinks and every second that went by felt like forever as the room started to fill with sweaty bodies.

Selling out their first ever show in Brisbane, Lime Cordiale were already stoked and rearing to go as they took the stage and kicked off the first note of single Hanging Upside Down. Track after track Lime Cordiale hit every note with perfection both with their instruments and vocals, playing like they could do it in their sleep.

Playing a solid set-list designed for every fan, Lime Cordiale played tracks from their latest EP ‘Road To Paradise’ right back to their 2012 EP ‘Faceless Cat’.  The time came for the moment we had all been waiting for, the debut of their latest single and music video for Waking Up Easy. I wasn’t surprised to hear the lyrics chanted louder than the band because i sure as hell were screaming them back as well.

Their stage presence is memorising, not only are they a stunning group of boys but the way they close their eyes when they sing and the smiles on their faces when the crowds starts to scream makes for a very personal and intimate performance. Lime Cordiale are a band that no matter how you are feeling or what music you are into their sound can lift your spirits and turn any space into a dancing frenzy.

Lime Cordiale are a band that makes you feel things, their music is a transporter and and it takes you to your happy place like a 3 seater 70’s couch or a hug from grandma. Every song and every note makes you feel good, and where ever the music wants to take me I will happily follow.
