Spit Syndicate Live @ Black Bear Lodge

Selling out the Black Bear Lodge on Thursday night, a little crew called Spit Syndicate were Super Cali Fragi Listic Expiali Dope Shit!

Inner West Sydney Hip-Hop duo Spit Syndicate have been capturing the attention of people all throughout Australia since 2005. Apart of the One Day crew alongside  Horrorshow, Joyride and Jackie Onassis, Jimmy and Nick have some serious talent that deserved the attention of a packed room.

The crowds excitement was explosive before Spit Syndicate had even entered the stage. Sound check sounding more like a One Direction concert with several screams and chants coming from  all throughout Black Bear Lodge. Due to the low stage and layout, their sold out Brisbane show became a very personal and intimate experience. You couldn’t move a muscle without touching the person next to you and if you took to many steps forward you would be jumping around with Jimmy and Nick on stage so you certainly got to know your neighbour.

Honoured to be up on stage, it was clear that Nick and Jimmy really are blokes living the dream and enjoying every minute that they get to spend inside the Spit Syndicate world. Both boys have their own individual style but they gel together so well creating a story telling perspective for their fans.

Spit Syndicate had so much for respect for their Brissy crowd from the minute they walked on stage to the end. Clapping hands, looking into peoples eyes and generally pumping their appreciation into the crowd made me respect Jimmy and Nick not just as artists but all round good dudes.

Accompanied by a live band, Spit Syndicate brought a refreshing twist to your typical Hip-Hop show of a DJ plus emcee. Feeling the crowds vibe, the band was grooving along just as much as we were, it was like they were fans but living the dream as part of the crew. The walls were dripping with condensation and almost every body was soaked like an over used sponge but not one persons mood was hindered. Hands were in the air, lyrics were called back line for line and every true Spit fan made sure to let them know they were there for them and nothing else.

Fan favourite tracks were an even tie between Beauty & The Bricks, Amazing and their new track Know No Better which was played for the first time ever in Brisbane live that night. Amazing has always been one of my favourite tracks because of the catchy beat in the background and lyrics that really speak to all upcoming artists. When it comes to never doubting yourself no matter what people say because once your up on that stage its amazing.

Gracing the stage for an encore and finishing off their set with the One Day crew song, ‘Love Me Less’, Spit Syndicate had a killer set list, incredible on stage presence and the crowd loved every minute of it.
