Inverted Music Festival To Be Crowned Largest Standing Australian Festival In The Last Year

With the cancellation of multiple major music events this year alone, rock fans can set their sights on Inverted Festival, the brand-new music and action sports festival taking place at Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast on Saturday, 1 May 2021.

Standing toe-to-toe with your mates and enjoying live music at your favourite festival seems like a distant memory but festival fans can rejoice knowing that Inverted Festival will take place at one of the safest venues in Australia. Metricon Stadium has been running major CovidSafe events in accordance with QLD Health throughout the pandemic and is locked and loaded to bring music festivals back to Australian fans.

Inverted Festival will be the largest standing music festival to take place in Australia since the pandemic first hit, with over 10,000 music fans expected to turn out for the fast-and-loud, one-day event. The event will be held with a commitment to a COVIDSafe environment, with a total capacity of 24,000 and two distinct zones to keep fans safe.

Falling neatly on Queensland’s Labour Day long weekend in May, there’s no better excuse to rally your mates, pack up the van and set course for a sunny weekend on the Gold Coast. With two events in one, punters will get extra bang for their buck, listening to Australia’s best punk bands and alternative rock bands whilst watching the best in action sports battle head-to-head in FMX, BMX and skate.

Celebrating the cultural cornerstones of punk rock and action sports, Inverted Festival will be the first of its kind in Australia; featuring a stellar line-up of homegrown Aussie talent including Skegss, Spiderbait, The Chats, Trophy Eyes, WAAX, Stand Atlantic and Fangz.

WAAX frontwoman Maz DeVita said: “Inverted Festival will be the first festival we’ve played in over a year and we’re so excited to get back in front of a crowd, especially at a massive venue like Metricon Stadium. It’s going to be a pretty unique experience playing while people are backflipping skateboards and motorbikes, but I think we’ll make a pretty epic soundtrack for that action.”

The world’s best action sports athletes will compete in Street Skate, BMX Park, BMX Big Air and Freestyle Motocross, attempting some of the most difficult and dangerous airborne stunts.
