Denial (Episode 9) || Super Cool Treehouse With Seth Sentry #BlackLivesMatter

Seth Sentry dropped another ‘Super Cool Treehouse’ rap on Sunday, this time named Denial making a total of 9 episodes so far.

Before recording Denial on Sunday Seth Sentry wrote:

This week I had my usual assortment of rap bars about rap bars & assorted dick jokes. But as I was recording it last night, it just didn’t feel right. There was a disconnect. I couldn’t shake the image of a man being murdered while we stood around watching. It felt like an episode of black mirror except this kinda shit is a reality for people of colour everywhere. Including our own fucking backyard. 400 indigenous deaths while in custody. Zero convictions. Opening line was inspired by Aesop.

This rap unlike the other 8 episodes hit a little different than the rest. Instead of rapping about the usual funny and relatable nonsense we know Seth to be fluent in, he instead took a different angle with Episode 9. He instead highlights the insanity going on in the world with yet another innocent black man killed at the hand of a white police officer in America. But America isn’t the only country with racism issues, look at what is happening in your very suburb, maybe even at your neighbours house, at the shops. Australia really isn’t much better with 400 indigenous deaths while in custody with zero convictions and your think this doesn’t concern you?!

“A cop murders a black man in front of a crowd, now imagine what happens when nobody is around”.
