It’s time again to turn your Good Friday into a bad one with the announcement of Sydney institution Bad Friday’s 2020 line up and news the much loved Easter event will be expanding to two days – the Bad Friday Weekender.
From its origin at the Annandale hotel through to The Vic on the Park and now returning to the industrial streets of Marrickville; Bad Friday continues to grow, and so does its patronage. The only two-day festival in Sydney it’s got a line up tailor made for local Sydney music lovers, with some added international flair.
Leading their monstrous 2020 edition are the always effervescent POND who will take Friday’s headline slot, fresh from touring their eclectic show around Europe and with acclaimed funky, prog-pop album in tow. Also joining the killer lineup is hip-hop laced, funk/soul six piece Winston Surfshirt will show Saturday’s Bad Friday audiences just why they’re a festival staple. Sydney’s favourite twins Cosmo’s Midnight are on the cusp of releasing their sophomore album replete with their signature electronic and R’N’B beats and Saturday Bad Friday patrons will be one of the first to hear it live. Holy Holy, Twin Peaks, Haley Mary, Midlife, Cool Sounds, Stevan, Shady Nasty, 30/70 and Caitlin Harnett & the Pony Boys.
