New Zealand dub icons Fat Freddys Drop have just dropped the music video for their new single Special Addition, taken from their new album Special Edition Part 1 out now via The Drop / Remote Control.
No worries in the party! The Special Edition music video features the return of Fat Freddy’s Drop marionette band vs Baby Dorge & a furry puppet posse grooving to the new single.
Mark Williams aka M.C. Slave of Fat Freddy’s Drop and the video Director says: “The Special Edition video is a collaboration with puppet master Jon Coddington. We first worked together with Jon on the 2013 Freddy’s ‘Clean the House’ video. Jon made the marionettes especially for that”.
This time however Fat Freddy’s Drop thought they’d add another dimension with the hand puppets and gathered 14 puppeteers from the extended Woah! puppeteering family to take part and help out. “I’ve never been in a room with so many puppeteers – it was so much fun” , Jon says.
Fat Freddy’s Drop’s fifth studio album Special Edition Part 1 will be available on CD and double vinyl in December. Part 2 can be eagerly awaited in the latter part of 2020. But for now enjoy the crazy puppeteer madness of the music video for Special Edition.
