Splendour In The Grass Security Changes [Please Read]

Hey Splendour Fam! We have officially started counting down the days to Splendour In The Grass #4 and I guarantee you have too so lets get the important stuff out of the way and make it as stress free as possible. We want you to spend more time on the good stuff and less worrying about the bad so you can enjoy some of the best days of your life.

This year Splendour has made some changes in regards to security, bag checks, car searches and all the stuff the keeps us safe. Booo yes I get it, but the Don’ts are what gets us home safe to our campsite every night so get your reading glasses out and make sure you understand what you can and can’t do as well as the wait you are in for!

BAG SIZES

All Backpacks and any bags over 30cm (l)  x 20cm (w) x 5cm (d) will not be allowed into the event area so pack light and embrace the #bumbag or should we say #fannypack. Any backpacks and any bags larger than 30cm (l) x 20cm (w) x 5cm (d) must be stored at the Cloakroom prior to entering the festival. Campers – you can take larger bags to the campgrounds but not into the event area.

BAG AND VEHICLE SEARCH – PLEASE BE PATIENT
As usual there will be both bag and vehicle searches upon entry to the festival site and this process will likely cause some delays. Every vehicle headed to the campgrounds will be checked at some point during the entry process. Please be patient and make it an opportunity to say hello to the people next to you. If you’re waiting in your vehicle, crank up the tunes. These procedures are necessary for everyone’s safety so please take it in your stride and work with the event and security staff to make the process as easy and quick as possible.

POLICE AND SECURITY
Splendour is a large town in its own right and a town needs policing.  You can expect to see increased Police and security presence at the festival this year.  There will also be WANDING. This is just like walking through that metal detector thing at the airport only this time it’s a wand. It’s going to slow down the entry process so be prepared for some delays, so please be patient.

If you have any concerns or see anything that you are not sure about, please do not hesitate to speak to them or call the Patron Safety Hotline on 1300 940 928. This number is specifically for those at the festival to call regarding any safety, medical or security matters and will be on display around the site.

*Please note The Patron Safety Hotline will not be operational until Wed July 19 at 9:00am.

DRUG DOGS
As in the past, there will be Police drug detection dogs at Splendour this year. Anybody found with illicit or illegal substances will be denied entry to the event and subject to Police action. You have been warned!
