Pixies Announce 2017 Australian Tour

One of the most influential American alternative rock bands from the 80’s are heading to Australia in March 2017. Their name you ask? It’s the f**king PIXIES!!

On September 30, the Pixies released their first album in two years by the name of ‘Head Carrier’. A little faster and upbeat then previous hit album’s such as ‘Doolittle’ and ‘Bassnova’, ‘Head Carrier’ still has that unique Pixies sound which has never changed and never will.

The band’s 2017 east coast tour will be the first time Pixies have played shows in the Australia since their 2014 gigs as part of Sydney’s VIVID Live. Although the group has played multiple shows already this year, the Australian dates will be the first ones to give them a chance at performing their new material live.

This tour will also welcome bassist Paz Lenchatin to the Pixies’ permanent line-up alongside vocalist/guitarist Black Francis, drummer David Lovering and guitarist Joey Santiago.

Now 30 years on the Pixies is still producing some of the best music of its kind. With tracks such as Debaser, Where Is My Mind and Here Comes Your Man still catchy and still well known, its evident that grungy rock from the 80’s is still respected and the Pixies do it best!
