Melbourne-based songwriter and musician Chris Pickering has just released his brand new album ‘Canyons’ and it’s one atmospheric collection of tunes.
After two years of reclusive work since his last EP ‘Corners’, Chris decided to release ‘Canyons. Showcasing his inspired union of urbane, classic pop songwriting, and atmospheric desert-rock, Chris’s new collection of original songs makes up the backbone for what is now his latest album.
As hinted by the digital release of the title track last year, ‘Canyons’ combines swirling psychedelic pedal steel guitar and stratospheric keyboards with a driving rhythm section and majestic twangy guitars.
‘Canyons’ was recorded in Joshua Tree, California, and Nashville, TN and co-produced by both Adrian Mauro, (Machine Age), and Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes).
