Reud Mood Visions And Happening EP Launch

3 piece psychedelic progressive rock group Reud Mood recently released their brand new EP Visions and Happenings and it’s a killer!

After seeing them play at Psych night I was excited to attend their heavily anticipated EP launch at the Zoo on August 29th. Even though I had been exposed to the glory that is Reud Mood before I still had no idea what to expect from these boys or what their EP may have to offer. You could feel the angst from the crowd as soon as you entered the venue. Beers in hand and eyes glued to the stage, the audience waited patiently as Reud Mood graced the stage with sticks, guitars and bass in hand. Three guys, a fresh sound and luscious hair was all we needed.

One slow and airy set of entrance chords had everyone hooked from the minute they started and my eyes didn’t leave the stage for their entire set, much like everyone else. Each song blended into the other like a story soundtrack, taking you on a journey through space and time and not leaving out any of the good bits. Reud Moods music takes over your mind and body with every beat and note perfectly meshed together to create a crazy and slightly sci-fi like rock show that you can’t help but be positively overwhelmed by.

Lead singer Bradshaw rocking the sound of a modern Jim Morrison singing songs about dreams and personal ponderings, we believe every word he sings and it leaves you bewitched by his stories. Killer drumming by the ginger ninja we all know as Luke (Handsome) Hanson mixed with the bass and keys by the uber talented Cameron West create a rhythm wave you want to drown in. The end result is a sound that’s both familiar in its 70’s psychedelic rock roots but also so new that only Reud Mood could produce this sort of magic.

Luke (drums), Cameron (Bass & Keys) and Bradshaw (Vocals & Guitar) are extremely talented musicians who deserve every inch of recognition they are currently gaining in the local music scene. Not only can you see their passion for music oozing out of them onstage but there’s something about the light that shines off their majestic flowing hair that’s got me wrapped around their finger.

I’ve seen them twice now and I sure as hell would see them again. But for now I will have Visions and Happening playing on repeat until I get a chance to vast in the glory that is Reud Mood again.
