It was an early morning but we made it and we caught the Northern Explorer Train early Monday morning. It took around 11.5 hours to get us from Auckland to Wellington in one day.
The most depressing thing was that there was no wifi!!! Could have cried but I didn’t, it just made for a very stretched out and long trip that I couldn’t have done without Ben.
We were however very fortunate because for the entire duration of our trip we had a four seater all to ourselves which made it a lot less awkward and comfortable for the both of us.
The trip felt shorter than I thought it would have but my butt was still numb by the end of it…
I wouldn’t ever recommend spending that much time on a train ever again but the views were definitely worth it.
